Bar Mitzvah Preparation
When should we begin Bar Mitzvah lessons?
The right starting point depends on your son’s Hebrew reading, the parts he plans to prepare, and the time available. Contact Rabbi Meyers with the Bar Mitzvah date and your goals so you can discuss an appropriate plan.
What if my son cannot read Hebrew yet?
Hebrew reading foundations are part of Rabbi Meyers’s instruction. Lessons can begin with the alef-beis, nekudos, and pronunciation, with preparation adapted to your son’s starting point.
Does my son need to lain the whole parsha?
No. Preparation can focus on the whole parsha, maftir, haftorah, leading davening, or a combination that suits your son and your family’s plans.
What can Bar Mitzvah preparation include?
Options include the whole parsha, maftir, haftorah, Kabalas Shabbos, Shacharis, and Musaf. Rabbi Meyers also offers speech-writing guidance and learning Mishnayos, Gemara, or a sefer of Tanach in preparation for a siyum.
Can Rabbi Meyers help with last-minute preparation?

Adult Education
Can I start as an adult with no Hebrew background?
Yes. Adult lessons can begin with Hebrew reading fundamentals. Rabbi Meyers welcomes adults of all learning abilities and backgrounds and adapts instruction to each learner’s experience and goals.
Can I learn to lead davening?
Yes. Instruction includes weekday, Shabbos, Yom Tov, and Yamim Noraim davening, with attention to pronunciation, nusach, phrasing, and confidence at the amud.
Can lessons help me learn with a child, grandchild, or chavrusah?
